WHERE ARE FIRE-RESISTANT CABLES (FTG10OM1 0.6/1KV CEI 20-45) REQUIRED?

Cables that continue to function for a specified period and under established test conditions, even during a fire, are referred to as fire-resistant cables.

Cables can be fire-resistant due to:

Construction, such as cables compliant with the CEI 20-45 standard or those with mineral insulation, or
Installation, for instance, cables installed under a tray.
Fire-resistant cables are used to power safety services that must continue to operate during a fire, such as firefighting pumps. This is not the case for centralized safety lighting, for example, in a theater, because lighting is no longer needed in areas affected by the fire (due to smoke, people must evacuate the premises within a few minutes), and safety lighting fixtures are not fire-resistant.

However, the conduits connecting the centralized source of safety lighting to areas where it is required must be fire-resistant to prevent a fire outside those areas from disrupting safety lighting just when it is needed. Cables suitable for these types of installations include:
