ITT 2017 begins on March 2, 2017

The first report provides an overview of the continuously evolving CEI 64-8 standard while simultaneously addressing some regulatory uncertainties, which are the subject of ongoing discussions. The new electronic meter by e-distribution sparks curiosity: we will hear directly from e-distribution about the reasons and objectives behind this innovation. It will also be an opportunity to discuss the rules revolving around meters.

The European Regulation 305/2011 on construction products also involves cables. From July 1, 2017, there are changes in the types and acronyms of cables, as well as their classification concerning fire reaction. A change that overturns our habits and knowledge in this regard.

Detecting a fire outbreak is important, but it is also essential to sound the alarm for a proper evacuation of people. This second function is often represented by some flashing sirens placed here and there. Instead, acoustic and optical warning devices should be correctly installed to cover the entire area where the presence of people is possible. Sometimes, the use of EVAC is required, whose standards are debatable and challenging to apply.

Last but not least: some delicate or problematic aspects of electrical system inspections. Looking forward to meeting you at our annual appointment. Prof. Vito Carrescia
